Basic Computing Classes 

You'll learn the basics on:

Computer – hardware components, operating systems, keyboarding

Internet  - security, browsing, banking and shopping

Emailing - providers, setting up an account, organization

Introduction to Programs – file management, Microsoft Office, word processing, documents and printing 

GED Prep 

  • Our Pre-GED and GED sessions are self-paced learning with rolling admission

  • Schedule a registration appointment to take your pre-test and set learning goals

  • Based on your pre-test, set learning goals which fit your skills, needs, and availability
    ​
  • Keep improving until you’re ready to take your GED exam

Volunteer Opportunities  

INDIVIDUALIZED SUPPORT:
  • 1-on-1 Tutoring - volunteer tutors work with learners on a 1-on-1 basis to reinforce the lessons provided in the curriculum. To be eligible, learners must be currently enrolled and be making active progress toward learning goals
  • Mentors – volunteer mentors work with learners on a 1-on-1 or small group basis on academic, professional, and life goals
  • Resume writing – volunteers help learners tailor their resumes to match the position for which they are applying
  • Job search & applications - volunteers assist learners with job searches and applications
  • Interviewing – volunteers allow learners to practice their interview skills. 
  • Career Exploration – each month, a professional from a variety of career paths will be invited to speak and share their experiences. These sessions are open to the community
